On the one hand, it’s incomprehensible why Electronic Arts is leaving the PC out (is it because they don’t have Ultimate Team, i.e., gambling?), and on the other hand, why do they put their name in every single one of their sports games? After all, after the WRC, we see the same with UFC 5…
Here’s the publisher’s overview: “EA Sports UFC 5 is as real as it gets. Powered by the Frostbite engine’s advanced rendering capabilities, your favorite fighters now have unparalleled character likenesses to complement next-level environment fidelity that’ll make their walk to the Octagon feel like a pay-per-view main event. The all-new authentic damage system brings the intensity and strategy of a life fight, as cuts and strikes absorbed can affect mobility, defense, stamina, and more. Take too much damage, and the doctor will check to see if you can continue.
For lovers of the ground game, the new Transition-Based Submissions make grappling feel more fluid and realistic than ever before. And if you like to admire your handiwork, new Cinematic K.O. Replays capture your fight-ending finishes in all their punishing glory. A revamped live service schedule builds exciting challenges around all pay-per-view fight weeks. Bring the next evolution of the fight game home with EA Sports UFC 5,” Electronic Arts wrote.
EA Sports UFC 5 will cost $70. For that price, you get two alter egos, the 30th anniversary Vanity bundle, five online career mode XP boosts, and Muhammad Ali as a playable character. The Deluxe Edition will be $100. In addition to the above, we get three days of early access (we’ve said it is a reprehensible trend in the gaming industry; here’s another example), plus Mike Tyson and Fedor Emelianenko as playable characters; we also get the Bruce Lee and Origins bundle, and we get four alter egos instead of two.
EA Sports UFC 5 will be released on October 27 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. Those who buy the Deluxe Edition can play from October 24.
