More Japanese-Developed Games Join Xbox Game Pass

One of them is a collection that will be available on the service within days, another is a new title that will be on Game Pass from day one, and the third game, which has already been released, has not yet been given a specific date.

Microsoft has announced that the first Japanese update of the three will be for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. The collection includes three games, and will be available on console and PC from September 26. The trilogy is a collection of games released for the iOS, Android, 3DS trio, and the compilation has been available for a while, having come out on April 9, 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam). With the Game Pass release, Capcom’s product will also be available on the Microsoft Store.

The second Japanese game will be Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, or Yakuza 7 Gaiden, if you prefer. SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced that Kazuma Kiryu ‘s story will be available on Xbox Game Pass on both console and PC from launch day, so subscribers will be able to access it from November 9. That’s when it will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Denuvo), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Finally, the third game will be Like a Dragon: Ishin!, which was only available in Japan for nearly a decade, as the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku spin-off was set during the Meiji Restoration (mid-to-late 19th century) in Japan, and SEGA felt it didn’t make much sense to localize it. Well, the Japanese company has since reconsidered, and the game has been available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store, Denuvo), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One since February 21. We can’t say here when it’s coming to the subscription service, as all we know for sure is that it’s coming in 2023.

So there’ll be some exciting games to keep an eye out for on Game Pass. Meanwhile, what is Sony bringing to PlayStation Plus? A price increase and nothing else…
