Amber Heard Reveals: Is this How Her Co-Star Treated Her On The Set Of Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom?!

MOVIE NEWS – Amber Heard claims Jason Momoa showed up drunk on set dressed as Johnny Depp…

Yesterday’s bombshell report from Variety details star Jason Momoa’s alleged attempts to get Amber Heard fired from the DC blockbuster sequel.

According to the report, on the same day the trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was released, some Reddit users paid to obtain documents of the Johnny Depp-Heard libel lawsuit and then posted them online.

The memos include descriptions apparently scribbled on a legal pad by Heard’s therapist, one of which says Momoa showed up drunk on set dressed as Depp, in an apparent attempt by the actor to chase Heard away.

The report goes on to say that Heard was indeed almost fired from the role of Mera after the 2018 Aquaman premiere. However, not because of the public drama with Depp. According to Variety, it may have been due to a lack of chemistry with Momoa. This is similar to the testimony Heard’s agent gave during the defamation trial.

However, Heard was not fired, which is reportedly thanks to Elon Musk. Variety reports that Heard’s former boyfriend sent a “scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down,” with one of his lawyers, which caused WB to relent and bring Heard back to The Lost Kingdom.

IGN has reached out to Warner Bros. and Momoa for comment. A spokesperson for DC denied the Momoa allegations in the Variety report, saying that “Jason Momoa conducted himself in a professional manner at all times on the set of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.”

Another source, meanwhile, claimed that Momoa did not dress as Depp but “has always dressed in that bohemian style.”

Yet notes from Heard’s therapist in the documents read, “Jason said he wanted me fired. Jason drunk – late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too.”

Could the director also ostracised Amber Heard?!

The memos also say that director James Wan ostracised her on set for her legal battle with Depp: “He raised his voice @ me – ‘I can’t even post about Aquaman’ – made it like it was my fault – I said ‘I’m sorry.’ Nobody could take selfies with me on set given blackout.”

A DC spokesperson, however, told Variety, “James is known for treating members of his cast and crew with the utmost respect and for fostering a positive, collaborative environment on set – the ‘Aquaman’ films were no exception.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has already been the subject of much scrutiny. Other reports over the summer revealed that it had undergone three rounds of reshoots.

Meanwhile, there was confusion over the place of Batman in the film, who at one point was thought to have been given a minor role.

While reshoots are not unusual for superhero movies, they can be expensive. Variety reports today that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom cost $215 million. There’s a chance it could repeat the billion-dollar success of its predecessor when it hits theatres on December 20. Following the announcement that Gunn and Peter Safran are revamping the DCEU, the remaining films from the previous system – Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash and The Blue Beetle – all underperformed. This has raised concerns about the brand’s strength at the box office.
