He focuses on the drama of A Quiet Place: Day One

MOVIE NEWS – A Quiet Place: Day One, which tells the story of the great success Quiet Place 1-2., was well received at the test screening. As the title suggests, the film tells the very beginning of an attack by extraterrestrials sensitive to sound, where the heroes of the story escape from the monsters in the loudest city in the world, New York.

The audience of the test screening mainly appreciated that, while the film brings the expected horrors and thrills in abundance, it does not fall behind with the dramatic tension either. The focus is on the relationship between the two fugitive heroes – played by Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn – and this really captures the viewer’s attention. According to early evaluations, the depiction of human relationships is now even more prominent than in the previous two films, even though the characterization was strong there as well, and the twists and turns of the fleeing family’s emotional life provided at least as much excitement as the action.

A Quiet Place: Day One therefore also holds its own as a chamber drama, which is obviously related to the director’s personality. Last year, it was a big surprise that Michael Sarnoski became the director, whose first feature, Pig, was one of the biggest critical hits of 2021, winning 37 awards and 74 nominations. Pig proved once again that Nicolas Cage is still one of the best actors today, and Sarnoski was credited as a demanding auteur filmmaker. That’s why the question arose as to why he takes on a task in a franchise – well, it turns out that the director can step up even if he is entrusted with the third part of a series.

By the way, the third: Quiet Place3 is in preparation, in which the story of the original family will be continued. It is not known whether John Krasinski will return to the director’s chair in addition to the protagonist Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy, theoretically he will not shy away from the task. The film is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2025.
