Did Konami Make A Mistake, Or Did It Slip Up?

The Japanese company’s financial report used wording that is both suspicious and could be a typo…

VGC has reported that Konami’s latest quarterly financial report hinted at something rather unusual. Last October, the publisher claimed that it was reviving its long-dormant Silent Hill franchise. At the time, Konami made several announcements and confirmed that Bloober Team (Layers of Fear, Observer, Blair Witch, The Medium) was developing Silent Hill 2 Temake, an impossible task given that the original game was a masterpiece 20 years ago.

Now Konami (who, by the way, have released Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, and if it were to be rated, it wouldn’t get more than 2/10, because there was no work behind it, that’s for sure) claim that Silent Hill remakes are in the works. Remakes, plural. “As for current efforts, we are working diligently on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, which will faithfully recreate the story, characters and game design of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, one of the most beloved entries in the Metal Gear series, and update its visual style to modern, current-generation graphics, as well as remakes and all-new entries in the Silent Hill series, which gained popularity as a psychological horror game,” Konami wrote.

So there are two possible scenarios. One: Konami simply screwed up and there really is only one remake. The second is that the Japanese company is updating several parts of the franchise. If this is indeed the case, then the first Silent Hill deserves some attention. Okay, there’s Silent Hill: Origins, but Harry Mason’s adventures should be released on the PS1, as Team Silent’s first project hasn’t been remastered since. Or what else? Apart from Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3 was TRASH in the HD Collection on PS3 and X360 a decade ago…

Let’s see how this turns out.
