MOVIE NEWS – The thriller Smile! was a great success last year, loved by the audience and the critics. First of all, it is proof that the production brought in a total income of 217 million dollars against a modest budget of 17 million dollars.
Several factors played a role in the pleasant surprise. Screenwriter-director Parker Finn made a full-length movie from his own short film (Laura Hasn’t Slept), knowing exactly how to create an almost two-hour nightmare from 11 minutes of banter. The main character Sosie Bacon – Kevin Bacon’s daughter – was also a hit, almost single-handedly carrying the entire film.
So far, not much is known about the sequel to Smile! apart from the fact that it will also be directed by Parker Finn – the Paramount studio does not let go of a talent if it turns up – and will be presented next autumn. Since the first film can also be considered as a closed whole, in the second we probably cannot follow the series of characters we have met so far, but new heroes will appear. The theme and basic motifs have only been explained in a restrained way so far, so we will obviously learn more about the nature of the wandering curse and the terrible smile demon, GameRant suggests.
As for the smiling demon seen in the premiere shot at the end of the first part, this entity, according to horror fans, was so well done that it is unlikely that we will meet similar ones in other films of the genre. After all, the
