Developed by The Chinese Room, the game will feature two other playable clans in addition to Brujah and Tremere. One was shown to us and the other will be revealed later this year.
The third clan is Banu Haqim in World of Darkness. This clan is recommended for those who prefer a gameplay that’s refined towards stealth, silent killing and outsmarting your opponents, so essentially you get Hitman-style gameplay when our protagonist Phyre joins this clan. A fourth clan will be announced later in December, so by the time we get to 2024, Paradox Interactive (the publisher) and The Chinese Room will have unveiled all four clans…
In a press release, The Chinese Room project creative director Alex Skidmore wrote: “Making Phyre a Banu Haqim changes the way players approach combat and offers a unique perspective on the game’s world. Players will need to approach encounters carefully to make the most of this clan’s gifts, timing their strikes with finesse and precision to achieve their goals. These Kindred are patient and cautious, making them ideal for players seeking a strategic experience.
Sean Greaney, Executive Vice President of Paradox Interactive World of Darkness, added: “The Banu Haqim are scholars, warriors, and guardians in Vampire: The Masquerade. Players looking for a more tactical style of play will get the clan they’ve been waiting for. Each clan has distinct qualities that will fulfil a unique player fantasy and shape how they experience Bloodlines 2. Kindred clans in Vampire: The Masquerade have their own long-lived worlds filled with history, motivations and power structures. The Chinese Room has done an expert job of translating these complex entities into a powerful RPG experience that is meaningful to players and feels at home in the World of Darkness.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be available next autumn for PlayStation 5, Xbox One and PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store).
