Metroid Prime 4: Could We Finally Find Out Why The Release Is Still Delayed?!

The latest rumours are that Metroid Prime 4 is being delayed due to poor-quality cutscenes and is still targeting the original Switch…

Metroid Prime 4 development is said to be almost complete. Rumours circulating online say that there is only one specific issue holding the game back from release.

According to PapaGenos on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, the development of the fourth part of the series is practically complete. In fact, it has been for quite some time. What lags the game is the quality of the cutscenes. The latter are said to be dizzyingly bad. Also, the game is still targeting the original Nintendo Switch release.

All of which suggests that the release shouldn’t be too far in the future, given that the next Nintendo console is said to be released next year.

Admittedly, PapaGenos has proven to be pretty reliable when it comes to Nintendo rumours lately. However, until the release window of MP4 is confirmed, we have to put everything aside.

The development of Metroid Prime 4 was quite problematic, to say the least. The game was announced back in 2017. Bandai Namco undertook the development of the game. Two years later, development was restarted. After that, the work was handed over to Retro Studios, which produced the series. Nothing has been said about the game since then. The only information comes from job postings that hint at a much more complex narrative in the game.

So, if the information is accurate, MP4 is still being developed for the original Nintendo Switch. However, the new console is already well underway. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we get more news about the game, so stay tuned for the latest news!
