It looks like the Xbox Game Pass subscription service is expected to lose at least four games on Monday, January 15. Microsoft has yet to announce Game Pass plans for January 2024 officially. But the app’s “Leaving Soon” section potentially let the genie out of the bottle.

New games are constantly being added to Game Pass, but titles are also regularly removed from the service. New Xbox Game Pass games are added on random days. But departing games are almost permanently removed on the 15th or last day of each month. Therefore, it can be assumed that the Game Pass games currently listed in the “Leaving Soon” section of the app will disappear on January 15.

While plans may still change, it looks like January 15 will be the last day Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4 Golden.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is also expected to leave Game Pass soon. However, it is unclear whether it will be removed along with the other games on the 15th or if Rockstar’s critically acclaimed open-world crime game will be removed sometime before then. It is true that the vast majority of Game Pass leavers are removed on the 15th or last day of each month. But Rockstar titles have always been the exception to the rule.

Of the four games leaving Game Pass on January 15, Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden received the highest ratings. However, the games are absolutely massive. So, Game Pass subscribers may not have enough time to play through before they are removed on January 15. That being said, it’s still worth trying the Persona games while they’re still on Game Pass. And those who want to keep playing can still buy them to keep.

Xbox Game Pass games are 20% off while they’re still on the service, so subscribers can at least get Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden for less than usual.

That said, Xbox Game Pass subscribers may want to hold off on Persona 3 Portable and focus their attention on Persona 4 Golden. A new version of Persona 3 will arrive on Game Pass on February 2 in the form of Persona 3 Reload. That way, subscribers will still have the opportunity to experience that game in some form. But Persona 4 Golden doesn’t get a similar replacement.
