GTA: The Trilogy: Is The Game Finally Getting An Update With Useful New Features?!

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy could be getting an update soon, and some speculate that it will include promising new features…

Activity on SteamDB suggests that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition may be getting an update soon. According to some speculations, this update will likely include the improvements recently added to the mobile version of the classic title of the Grand Theft Auto trilogy.

GTA: The Trilogy launched on mobile in December, and fans were relieved when the release went much more smoothly than the trilogy’s 2021 release on consoles and PC.

The mobile edition of the trilogy introduced visual improvements such as a new lighting mode. The purpose of this was to restore the appearance of the original games. Now that mobile users can enjoy solid renderings of classic GTA titles, users on other platforms have been hoping for similar improvements. It looks like fans’ hopes may soon come true.

Ben (videotechuk_) on X revealed that GTA: The Trilogy has been very active on SteamDB recently. This suggests that the developers are working on a new patch. According to him, the patch will likely include the fixes and improvements seen in the last mobile release. Users of this version reported that GTA games looked significantly better than the 2021 edition of the trilogy. It seems plausible that if this can be done on mobile devices, it can also be done on PCs. If this is true, then it is likely that this update will also appear on consoles. The release date of the potential fix is not yet known.

GTA: The Trilogy includes remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

All three titles are at least nineteen years old. It was fitting that they should be reissued in 2021. However, fans widely criticised the game’s release due to the many bugs and unconvincing graphics. Initially, GTA’s fan base saw the re-release as more of a cash grab than an effort to honour the original games. Still, it sold impressively well.

The CEO of Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has revealed that GTA: The Trilogy has sold more than ten million copies since its release, surpassing the company’s expectations.

Fortunately for Grand Theft Auto fans, Rockstar seems to be on the upswing when it comes to handling the game. This could help build even more hype for Grand Theft Auto VI…
