LG Unveils the World’s First Transparent Wireless OLED TV in Las Vegas [VIDEO]

TECH NEWS – LG Electronics (LG) will unveil the world’s first wireless, transparent OLED TV at CES 2024. The LG SIGNATURE OLED T is a true technological first, combining a transparent 4K OLED screen with LG’s wireless video and audio transmission technologies, making the device a true home entertainment solution with a range of possibilities. LG OLED’s outstanding image quality is complemented by the image processing power of the new α (Alpha) 11 AI processor. The new TV won five innovation awards at the 2024 CES awards, including Best of Innovation.

With the LG SIGNATURE OLED T, users can say goodbye to a dominant black screen in their home, as it can also serve as a decorative element in the living room. While maintaining its 77-inch screen size, the OLED T’s innovative transparent display fits well into any interior. When switched off, it practically blends into its surroundings, overcoming the long-standing problem of what to do with the ‘big black screen’ when it’s not on. The transparent screen narrows the space less than its traditional counterparts, giving the room a more spacious, transparent feel.

The unique LG OLED T also opens up new possibilities for positioning. The advantage of a transparent screen is that the TV doesn’t necessarily have to be positioned against the wall, it can be placed in the middle of the room as a partition, but it won’t block the view in front of the window. The included Zero Connect Box offers LG’s state-of-the-art wireless transmission technology with 4K picture and sound quality, meaning the TV can be placed anywhere, regardless of where the network connection points are in the room. With no cables between the Zero Connect Box and the OLED T, the TV environment can remain cable-free and uncluttered.

The modular design of the LG OLED T also makes it easy to install. The TV will be available in standalone, wall-mounted or wall-mounted versions.

The OLED T’s Always-On-Display (AOD) function turns the display into a transparent digital canvas, allowing users to view paintings, videos or photos even when the display is switched off. The transparent screen gives the content the sensation of floating in the air, together with the surrounding space, creating a stunning visual effect. Another special feature of the TV is the T-Bar function, which displays news, weather information or song titles in a useful information bar running along the bottom of the screen, while the rest of the screen offers a clear view of the space behind.

LG OLED’s enhanced picture quality is powered by a new α (Alpha) 11 processor using artificial intelligence, which delivers four times the performance, 70 percent better graphics performance and 30 percent faster processing speeds compared to its predecessor. OLED T TVs allow users to switch between transparent and high contrast screen modes at the touch of a button.

Visitors to CES 2024 will be able to see the LG SIGNATURE OLED T in person at the company’s booth (#16008, Las Vegas Convention Center) from January 9-12.
