Classic PS1 Horror Game Coming Soon To PS Plus Premium?!

A rumour has spread that a classic PS1 horror game may be included in the PlayStation Plus Premium offer…

According to leaked information, the classic PS1 horror game Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare may soon be included in the PlayStation Plus Premium offer! However, the publication suggesting the addition was quickly deleted. Still, gamers are waiting with bated breath to see this classic Alone in the Dark entry on PS Plus Premium soon.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is a survival horror video game released in 2001 for PlayStation, Dreamcast, PC, and later PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Color.

The fourth part of the Alone in the Dark series, in which the protagonists Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac investigate the mysterious disappearance of a professor and his daughter on Shadow Island.

Following PlayStation UK’s Twitter announcement of new Plus Extra and Premium games for January 2024, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare appeared briefly. But it was mysteriously deleted not long after. A player named TURB0_THUNDER collected some evidence in a Reddit post. While there are no actual screenshots of the tweet, other users’ comments suggest a reference to the classic horror game.

The Reddit user shared three tweets from gamers who claimed to have witnessed the since-deleted PlayStation UK tweet.

The rumour was further fueled when the PlayStation Access YouTube channel accidentally featured the game. This month, it was featured in a video, but the clip was removed after the tweet was deleted. Fortunately, in this case, a quick user managed to take a screenshot. All this further strengthens the likelihood that the game will come to PlayStation Plus Premium in 2024.

The Reddit post sparked a debate among gamers, with many expressing their excitement over the possible inclusion of Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare.

Some gamers are pushing for a wider library of classic horror titles on the service, stressing the need for beloved classics like Resident Evil 2 and 3, Silent Hill, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis and Nightmare Creatures.

The potential inclusion of the title could be good news for fans. After all, they recently received the unfortunate news that the release of the Alone in the Dark reboot was postponed from January to March 20, 2024. The rumour has not yet been confirmed. But fans of Alone in the Dark are waiting for an official announcement from PlayStation. That the PS1 horror title might be included in the PlayStation Plus Premium offer…
