The free game on the Epic Games Store from January 18th to January 25th is the platformer Love. But EGS users have problems claiming the current free game. Now that the digital store’s free “Mystery Games” promotion has ended, EGS users have been given advance notice of what free games to expect from one week to the next.

Last week, users of the Epic Games Store were warned that the EGS free game between January 11th and January 18th would be Sail Forth.

That said, Sail Forth is not yet available to Epic Games Store users at the time of writing. It seems to be due to some bug with the digital store. The official EGS Twitter account recently tweeted about Sail Forth being the free game. That seems to remain the intention. But if someone navigates to the store’s page, it invites them to make a purchase instead.

It is not yet known how long it will take for the Epic Games Store to resolve the issues with Sail Forth. It has happened in the past that an announced EGS free game has been replaced with something else. It is not clear if this will also happen with Sail Forth. In any case, users now know for sure that Love is waiting for them on January 18 – unless there are other, unforeseen problems.
