The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered: Can We Keep Our Trophies From The Original Game?!

What happens if I have a platinum trophy in The Last of Us Part 2 and transfer the game to the remastered version of PlayStation 5?

Many of us have been wondering this week: if we hit platinum in The Last of Us: Part 2, do we keep it, or do we have to earn it again?

The good news is that if you’ve already achieved platinum in the game on PlayStation 4, you can purchase the upgrade to the PlayStation 5 remastered version this week and transfer the trophy immediately.

Naughty Dog confirmed via X that this is an instant unlock, as you just need to transfer your save data from PS4 to PS5 and then load your last save to unlock it. The Last of Us 2 trophies you previously earned on PS4 will carry over to PS5 Remastered, including any Platinum you earned.

The news will come as some relief to those who don’t feel like trying to get platinum again. Although I think there will be some who would be happy to take on the TLoU 2 platinum trophy challenge again.

In addition to the previous ones, there will be 13 new trophies in The Last of Us Part 2 – Remastered on PlayStation 5. The new trophies require you to complete specific tasks in the new “No Return” roguelike game mode. See the tweet below for the complete list of new trophies!

But it also turned out that the game does not require the No Return trophies to get the platinum trophy. At least, that’s Naughty Dog’s position at the moment. Existing PS4 owners of TLoU 2 can upgrade to the digital version of The Last of Us 2 Remastered at launch for $10.
