Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League: Everyone’s Favourite Character Comes In A Free DLC! [VIDEO]

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has confirmed that it will bring back the Joker – and the first gameplay footage featuring the iconic villain has been revealed!

It’s now a fact that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is bringing back the Joker! The first gameplay footage showing a new version of the iconic character has just been released. This reveal comes just a week after the game promised the return of DC’s biggest villain.

Unlike Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham games, Kill the Justice League is a live-action third-person shooter but takes place in the same universe.

Due to this condition, including the clown prince of criminals is a bit tricky. If only because the version of the Joker in the series has been dead since Batman: Arkham Asylum…

The Joker is the first free DLC character for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

However, Rocksteady found a way around this inconvenience. And the latest episode of the studio’s Kill the Justice League dev diary confirms this. Specifically, the upcoming Suicide Squad game will introduce an alternate version of the Joker as a DLC character. This will happen as soon as the first season is released in March.

Like the rest of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s post-release characters, the Joker will be free to unlock through regular play.

In the developer diary of January 22, the director of the Rocksteady studio, Darius Sadeghian, said that the Joker in the upcoming game comes from an alternative universe – another world, according to the game’s jargon. Brainiac creates these during the game’s story campaign. You’ll need to reach the shooter’s endgame loop to unlock it.

The version of the dreaded clown bandit here is slightly younger than the one that died five years before the events of the upcoming game. According to Rocksteady, it decided to bring the character back to its roots, so to speak. In Batman: Arkham, he plans a slightly more pleasant version of the Joker. This is also underlined by the fact that the home universe actually had its own Suicide Squad.

So players can look forward to a character who isn’t quite super-villain but, at the same time, is utterly insane in his own way.

Joker’s movement abilities in the game are based on a rocket-powered umbrella. The gameplay footage we just shared shows a plain black version of this accessory. Undoubtedly, players will be able to customize the umbrella to their liking. Relatedly, in the new dev diary, Sadeghian reiterated that Kill the Justice League will be “one of the most generous, player-friendly post-launch experiences,” noting that the shooter will be free of battle passes and paywalls. The in-game shop will be dedicated exclusively to cosmetics. Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad will be released on February 2 for PC and consoles.
