Seriously, Can This Be The Official Title Of Death Stranding 2?! Latest Leak’s Here! [VIDEO]

A trusted industry insider has leaked the purportedly official and rather strange title of Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2…

Hideo Kojima’s sequel to Death Stranding will be titled Death Stranding 2: On The Beach. At least, that’s what a reliable industry insider told us. The source also shared some additional information about the upcoming game. All of this suggests that 2024 will finally see more official DS2 news.

Death Stranding 2 was initially announced at The Game Awards 2022 with an extended trailer of in-engine cutscenes.

In true Kojima fashion, the video offered more questions than answers about the Death Stranding sequel despite clocking in at over four minutes. Nothing else has been revealed about the game since then.

The alleged title of Death Stranding 2 is clearly related to the original

While Kojima Productions remains radio silent, Dealabs’ Billbil-kun has now shared some new information about the game. Among them is the alleged official title: Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach. While this may seem like a rather strange name to those unfamiliar with the series’ history, it is clearly related to the original Death Stranding. After all, we literally spent a lot of time at the beach.

Second trailer coming soon?

Billbil-kun also reports that the second trailer for the game will be released in the near future. He predicts that this will happen sometime in the next 15 days, so early February at the latest. This claim is consistent with the fact that Sony has held its PlayStation State of Play broadcast in February four times out of the last five years. They deviated from this habit only in 2020, when the schedule of most products was shifted due to the pandemic.

Industry insider Jeff Grubb also believes a new State of Play is on the horizon, and he said so on an early January episode of the Giant Bombcast podcast.

As for the video itself, the second trailer for DS2 could have taken a long time to come. In particular, Kojima was seen editing a State of Play-related Premiere Pro project back in late September, although that video has yet to see the light of day.

The famous game designer last mentioned Death Stranding 2 on New Year’s Eve. At the time, he revealed that the project’s Japanese dubbing will begin in 2024. Most of the English dubbing voices were probably already completed by this time. If only because Norman Reedus previously revealed that this project phase began in the first half of 2022. In addition to Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Troy Baker have also been confirmed to return for the upcoming sequel, which is rumoured to target a 2025 release.
