Could This Be The Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Like?! Gameplay Details Have Leaked!

The first gameplay details of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel codenamed “Orion” have leaked online, along with some other information.

The first gameplay details of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel have leaked online! All of this was revealed in some of CD Projekt Red’s recently published job advertisements. The lists’ very existence indicates that the sequel’s pre-production phase is already in full swing.

CDPR officially announced the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Orion, in October 2022. Like the first game, Project Orion was confirmed before pre-production had even begun. With the idea that it will be easier for the studio to find talent for a game that everyone knows exists.

CDPR North America’s newly opened studio in Boston and its sister facility in Vancouver have begun advertising for various project-related positions.

The 18 job posting, which appeared on the developer’s website on February 6, reiterates that the game’s sequel will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. Moreover, he reveals some selected gameplay details about the upcoming title.

Specifically, an announcement from the project’s lead systems designer indicates that crafting will be in the game. At the same time, two other ads hint that CDPR plans to once again use storytelling with a combination of scripted in-game events and cutscenes. In the original game, even the most regular transitions did not wholly take control away from the player. (Aside from a few late-game exceptions, one of which was introduced in Phantom Liberty.) Several mentions of Orion conduits suggest that character animations will be partially motion-captured, as was the case in the previous game.

Could the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 be fully open-world?!

In the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, open-world events will also return, according to the list. The opening event descriptions have some additional details. And the rest of the information confirms the more apparent additions, such as an interactive dialogue system, the ability to explore and read documents in the game world, and RPG elements.

CDPR previously stated that the second Cyberpunk game will aim for a Witcher-like evolution, in the sense that it will focus on improving the parts of its predecessor that didn’t work well initially while mainly retaining the elements that did well.

Given that many of the job postings just posted advertise various management positions, the project can be felt to be still in its infancy. Moreover, AAA development cycles are getting longer and longer. Thus, we can wait even longer for the Orion project than for Cyberpunk 2077, which was announced almost eight years before it could finally be released.
