Homeworld 3 Has Been Delayed!

Blackbird Interactive’s game will arrive a little over two months later than previously planned.

Blackbird and Gearbox Publishing have announced that Homeworld 3 will not be released on Steam and the Epic Games Store on March 8, but instead on May 13. The developer and publisher explained why they needed the extra two months in a statement on Twitter:

“Hello Commanders. We hope you all enjoyed your first hands-on experience with Homeworld 3 during our public demo of War Games. Watching you share your experiences, share and discuss strategies, and give us constant feedback has been incredible. This was our first time seeing the game played at scale, which is always a thrilling and nerve-wracking moment. We also recently gathered a dedicated group of players from outside our organizations to play through the entire game. This provided additional insight and perspective that we are incorporating to make Homeworld 3 the best experience possible.

After carefully analyzing the feedback, we’ve made the decision to delay the global launch of Homeworld 3 until May 13th, with an early access date of May 10th, to ensure that we can make the final tweaks necessary to deliver the level of quality that we strive for and that you deserve. To say that you, as a community of players, have been patiently waiting for this next installment would be an understatement, and we are deeply grateful. We will continue to keep you updated on our progress. As always, please feel free to send us your feedback via our social channels, the Homeworld Universe Discord, and our support page. Thank you all for playing, and we’ll talk again soon,” Blackbird and Gearbox wrote.

So they didn’t really use the usual justification, but they emphasized that they decided to delay because of the feedback. I’d rather have a game released a little later, but free of serious bugs, than a rushed piece of crap, right? So, Homeworld 3 is coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 13th, with Denuvo, because it’s already listed on the Steam page…
