Zombie Army VR: Rebellion Takes Zombies Into Virtual Reality [VIDEO]

Rebellion Developments and XR Games bring their zombie-killing first-person shooter to VR.

The game brings the Zombie Army franchise to virtual reality for the first time, allowing you to experience the fear, excitement and suspense of the zombie apocalypse through the immersion of your headset. Following the story of the Zombie Army series, Zombie Army VR puts you back in the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad hunting down zombie war criminals. Fight your way through hordes of the undead near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg and help Hermann Wolff, the legendary leader of the Deadhunters, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

VR brings a new level of immersion to the nail-biting action of the Zombie Army series. Use both hands to aim your rifle and line up the perfect shot at close range. When things get up close and personal, use each hand independently to dual-wield pistols and submachine guns. You will also need to master reloading drills as the undead masses descend on you from all sides. Keeping your nerve and working under pressure will be crucial to your success. To help you send the undead scourge back to the abyss, you will have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weapons, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols, and more. You must also earn XP to level up your Deadhunter as you fight your way through zombie-infested 1940s Europe. Use weapon upgrade kits to change the range, accuracy, scope and ammo capacity of your weapons.

There’s no shortage of the franchise’s signature X-ray kill cams. The game is not exclusively solo, but can also be played cooperatively with a friend. Meta Quest and PC VR devices support bHaptics and Forcetube. Accessibility options will include settings for color blindness, sound, and rotation.

Zombie Army VR is coming to PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest Pro in 2024.
