Stellar Blade: Surprising Confirmation From The Developers About The Protagonist’s Character!

The developers seem to be making no secret of using Stellar Blade’s main character, EVE, and her actress’ appearance as advertising.

The use of sexuality as an attention grabber is almost as old as advertising itself. We have also experienced this with video games, which historically, as a medium initially intended for men, have always been associated with using female characters in the promotion. (Just think back to the time of the infamous E3 booth girls.) This has now come to mind again with one of the upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusives, Stellar Blade.

Those whose memories serve you well know that this is the action video game developed by South Korean studio SHIFT UP Corporation, starring EVE, the character who embodies this statement.

It is important to state this categorically because the studio willingly admitted this is precisely its intention. That is, to attract as many people as possible to its game, thanks to the character’s attractiveness.

In an interview with GamesRadar, project director Hyung-Tae Kim spoke openly about the desire to use the seductive power of the title by modelling EVE in 3D. In fact, Hyung-Tae admitted that a lot of resources and effort were put into the “back half” of EVE. Because “it’s an area we see a lot in the game.” That’s true since it’s a third-person action game, but we’ve seen enough footage to see that this part of the characters stands out the most, even in motion pictures.

A Sony megerősítette, hogy a Stellar Blade, egy kiemelkedően várt akció-kalandjáték, amelyet eredetileg 2023-ban terveztek megjelentetni, most 2024-re tolódik.

“Onlyfans” star to star in Stellar Blade?!

Stellar Blade, which will be released on April 26 this year, is once again in the news after a demo was leaked to the PlayStation Store for a few minutes. Although it has since been removed, as a result, up to 40 minutes of footage has already circulated on the Internet.

The piquancy of the matter is that this leak also showed one of the game’s main attractions: EVE’s costumes. Some of them cover practically nothing.

The studio even made the character based on the image and likeness of model Shin Jae-eun, which it announced some time ago on its social media pages, showing videos of the motion capture process.

The South Korean model known as Zennyrt on social media runs a crowdfunding platform similar to Onlyfans, where she posts erotic photos and videos. Of course, it’s perfectly legal, and it’s her choice what she does with her body. At the same time, the fact that SHIFT-UP chose it as EVE’s 3D model indicates the studio’s commitment to using sexuality as an advertising ploy.

It is essential to point out that those who criticize the move are mostly not doing so because a beautiful and pretty girl was chosen as the game’s main character. But because, by building the entire advertising campaign around the character’s attractiveness, they objectify EVE on the one hand. On the other hand, such catches often serve to mask other deficiencies in the game. And this can be cause for some concern.

Anyway, the game inspired by Nier: Automata looks like a competent hack-and-slash game with a lot to do and a world to explore. However, he tried to create his specialness by using physicality as bait from day one.
