Gotham Knights Developers Could Be Making Another Major DC Character Game?!

A new job posting has revealed that Gotham Knights studio WB Games Montreal is assisting Monolith Productions with the upcoming Wonder Woman game.

WB Games Montreal, the studio behind Gotham Knights, can help Monolith Productions with the upcoming Wonder Woman game. At least according to a newly discovered job posting. WB Montreal already knows the DC universe well. In 2012, he helped Rocksteady with Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition for Wii U. Then, the following year, he also published Batman: Arkham Origins.

His next venture into gaming took him outside of the Arkham universe with Gotham Knights, the spiritual successor that focused on the rest of the Bat family tasked with protecting Gotham City after Batman’s death.

Both Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights received mixed reviews upon release. After inevitably being compared to Rocksteady’s DC-based offerings. However, recent rumours suggested that the studio wasn’t ready to leave DC just yet. That’s because WB Montreal is reportedly hiring for a new project based on one of the parent company Warner Bros. Discovery’s many licensed properties. Earlier this month, a job posting called for a creative director to lead the project. Ideally, that person has experience creating AAA action games like Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights.

Now, it has been revealed that WB Montreal is helping to develop another large-scale DC-based video game. The studio recently announced a job advertisement for an external development artist. And in the job description, Monolith’s Wonder Woman game was explicitly named as the project they would be working on. Whoever is selected for the job will specialize in providing support between WB Montreal’s internal Level Art team and the external global developer network. As well as assist in creating in-game props and architectural and natural assets. It will also help with feedback loops. He will also ensure that the game’s assets are completed on time and in the best possible quality.

Gotham Knights’ WB Montreal is helping Monolith with Wonder Woman

Monolith Productions was most recently known for their work on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. They also worked on its 2017 sequel, Middle-earth: Shadow of War. It was announced during The Game Awards 2021 that a Wonder Woman game is in development. Since then, few details have been revealed other than that this Wonder Woman title will be an open-world title. It also retains the well-known and popular Nemesis system from Monolith Middle-earth.

Warner Bros. also stated that Wonder Woman will not be a live service game, much to the relief of players put off by recent similar titles such as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

So now it looks like Monolith is getting some help with the development of the Wonder Woman game. It is not yet known when the Wonder Woman game will be released. However, WB Montreal’s experience with comic book titles like Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights will definitely come in handy during the development cycle.
