Will Gotham Knights Finally Arrive On This Popular Console?!

Gotham Knights is unavailable on previous-generation consoles, but recent reports suggest it may be coming to Nintendo Switch.

A port of last year’s Gotham Knights could be coming to Nintendo Switch! Because the game has now been given a rating for the system. The game was officially released in October 2022 for current-gen consoles and PC. But its release was marred by controversy.

With many PS5 and Xbox Series X titles supporting 60 FPS gameplay, Gotham Knights caused a backlash because it was limited to 30 FPS on consoles.

Some users also complained that the GK user interface resembled free-to-play mobile games. Players also seem to have had several other problems with the game. Regardless, it appears that Nintendo Switch owners will be able to decide for themselves whether they like the game in the future.

According to Nintendo Life, Gotham Knights has been certified for Nintendo Switch. It will be released on the system in the near future. The report pointed out that Gotham Knights’ ESRB rating now includes the Switch as a platform alongside PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. Nintendo Life also mentioned that Singapore has released a classification for the Switch version of GK. So an official announcement should be made soon. For those interested, GK has been given a Teen rating for violence, blood and intense violence. And gamers can check out the full summary on the official ESRB website.

Gotham Knights received mixed reviews on release, with the PS5 version scoring 67 points on Metacritic. It has a user score of just 4.9, so it will be interesting to see how GK runs on Switch when it launches. Especially given that it’s not available on previous-generation consoles.

According to a recent leak, Nintendo will be holding a new Direct launch later this month, so a port of Gotham Knights could be announced at that event.

The Switch versions of some significant third-party games received positive feedback when they were released. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Doom Eternal, and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim are among the most visible ports to the Nintendo Switch. Fans can also play titles such as Alien: Isolation and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. So, despite the relatively poor critical reception, Gotham Knights could be the latest game to join the collection of impressive ports.
