Former President Of Sony Interactive Entertainment Gets A Digital Bobblehead!

Jim Ryan, who has made some pretty idiotic comments in the past (just think back to his criticism of backwards compatibility and his statement on gaming in the Middle East…), has received a parting gift from his former employer.

The digital platform PlayStation Stars is the way to get the Jim Ryan bobblehead, and you can get it by playing a game that Sony put together under his leadership. You’ll need to have played any of Gran Turismo 7, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, God of War: Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, or Destiny 2 to get the reward, so if you have one of those, it’s easy to get the figurine.

“Help us celebrate Jim Ryan’s 30 years at PlayStation by playing one of the many impressive games he championed as CEO and get a special digital collectible. Happy retirement, Jim!” reads the official description of the bobblehead. In fact, Ryan has spent nearly three decades at Sony, and rarely do employees (regardless of name or company) last that long in one place.

“After 30 years, I have made the decision to retire from SIE in March 2024. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to do a job I love at a very special company, working with great people and incredible partners. But I’ve found it increasingly difficult to balance living in Europe and working in North America. I leave having had the privilege of working on products that have touched millions of lives around the world; PlayStation will always be a part of my life, and I feel more optimistic than ever about the future of SIE. I would like to thank Yoshida-san for placing so much trust in me and for being an incredibly sensitive and supportive leader,” Ryan wrote in his statement announcing his departure.

Jim Ryan has been at the helm of Sony Interactive Entertainment since 2019, and he was the man behind the launch of the PlayStation 5. He will leave the company at the end of this month, having previously led the European division and international marketing.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
