There are plenty of signs that a sixth Call of Duty: Black Ops game is on the way, while Fallout-related content could be coming to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone…
Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone’s latest update seem to have revealed a lot about the future of Call of Duty. Since launch, data miners have been digging through the game’s files to find clues about future additions. However, what they found was much better than what they sought. There are many clues that the next instalment will soon be revealed through an in-game event. Also, that it is a new Black Ops. Also, the latter is planned to be presented at the Xbox Games Showcase, which will be held in June.
Is it time for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?
A total of three clues were found in the Season 3: Reloaded Patch. They all seem pretty solid and point in the same direction. In this sense, we have only two options left: either the sixth Call of Duty: Black Ops game is indeed revealed, or Activision is playing with us. Either way, it’s best to know the details and draw your own conclusions.
- Sally 6: A blueprint for a 9mm pistol named “Sally” and the number six was found in the game’s archives. Sally was the name of one of the pistols on the cover of the original Black Ops. That’s right, the number eight was on it in that game. The six may indicate that this is the sixth game in the Black Ops “sub-series”.
- Cerberus: Data miners found a challenge identified as “cerberus_reveal”. This could directly reference the teaser released for the Xbox Showcase, which featured a Cerberus logo.
- Frank Woods: Hints have been found for a new operator referring to the iconic Black Ops character.
True, one should always be careful with unofficial information. But in this case, the clues seem all too abundant. The only surprising thing is that it seems too early to know anything about the franchise’s next instalment. Confirmations usually start coming in August. However, this change is easily explained by the simple fact that Activision now operates under Microsoft’s umbrella.
Could Fallout skins be coming to Modern Warfare 3?!
With the success of the Fallout TV series, Microsoft was eager to have a new game in the franchise ready for release. But since there was no game available, they came up with something else. The company is taking advantage of its recent acquisition of Activision to monetize one of its great intellectual properties through Call of Duty.
At least that’s what the information obtained by the community through data mining suggests, which talks about the release of new skins based on the Bethesda franchise for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3.
In that sense, the release of new Fallout cosmetics seems like a win-win. It allows for further monetization of the Bethesda franchise, building on the enthusiasm generated by the series, which has exploded the popularity of the franchise’s older games. It can also attract users who only play Call of Duty. So, otherwise, they wouldn’t have paid so much attention to the series. In short, it’s one of those significant synergies Microsoft faces with its monstrous studio portfolio.
Fallout skins are expected to be available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 starting on May 28. If the data mining leaks are confirmed, new cosmetics related to Gundam and The Crow will also be available during this period. It’s always worth waiting until we know for sure, but don’t hesitate to put aside your CoD points if you’re interested in any of the new stuff!
