Warhorse Studios’ next game hasn’t even been optimized much yet, and it’s already delivering excellent performance with Nvidia’s upscaling technology, DLSS, so we’re confident that Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s sequel will run well.
A few days ago, we reported on a video uploaded to YouTube by the game’s director Daniel Vávra (Hidden & Dangerous, Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, Mafia II, Kingdom Come: Deliverance), showing off his new PC with a high-end AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia GeForce graphics card. He’s also playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and already has little to complain about in terms of performance, as he’s already achieving an impeccable frame rate with upscaling.
When we first wrote about the PC’s performance, it was running at 4K resolution at sixty frames per second with very high graphics settings, using neither AMD’s FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) nor Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning SuperSampling). If one of them is enabled, you can reach up to 80 FPS. Stolz Zwiling, PR Manager at Warhorse Studios, explained that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can do this in most places, but not everywhere, and that this is not a reflection of the game’s actual performance.
As mentioned earlier, the Hungarian king also plays a role in the story. This is Sigismund the Red Fox, who was also Holy Roman Emperor between 1433 and 1437 (he took the Hungarian and Croatian thrones in 1387). The setting is still 15th-century Bohemia, in present-day Czechia, and the king who reigned between 1419 and 1437 is also involved. Henry, the protagonist of the first part, will also meet him, and the animations and battles already look very realistic.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released sometime in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox series and PC. It runs on CryEngine.
