Hades 2: First Major Patch For The Early Access Version Of The Roguelike Has Arrived!

The Early Access journey of Hades 2 is off to a great start with a patch that’s actually much bigger than it first appears…

Hades 2 entered Early Access just ten days ago, and the developers at Supergiant Games are wasting no time responding to community feedback. The first patch is here, and it’s much bigger than I think anyone could have expected. More versatile collection tools and faster sprints are just the tip of the iceberg…

The highlight? “You now can gather from any resource point once you have unlocked the corresponding Gathering Tool.” One of the biggest new features of Hades 2 is resource gathering, where you choose a tool for a run and gather suitable materials along the way.

Now, instead of choosing a single tool, you choose one to be treated as a “priority” – you get the resources for that tool as often as before, but now you also find other resources, just “much less often”.

According to another headline, an important gameplay change is that your sprint is now “innately faster and turning is more responsive,” and your dash is now “out of many attack recovery animations more reliably.” Together, these should make movement feel much faster and more responsive.

The developers already hinted at some of these changes a few days ago. At the same time, the scope of the update was downplayed. Of course, there are no massive content additions, but the fine-tuning of the collection tools will make a huge difference in the sense of development progress. Thanks to these new solutions, collecting in the game will be much less frustrating.

Also, a huge change is that you can now find driftwood more often. This is one of the most frustrating raw materials you will have to research. The update is live now, and you can read the full patch note on Steam.
