GTA VI: They Secretly Pushed Back The Game’s Release Date After All?!

We can’t wait for GTA VI, but it’s still fair to feel that the release is slipping…

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the next instalment in Rockstar Games’ iconic Grand Theft Auto series. But it seems that some people may not even have noticed that GTA VI is delayed (so to speak).

When Rockstar Games finally released the trailer for GTA VI’s December 2023 debut after months of rumours and infamous gameplay leaks, we also learned that it’s coming sometime in 2025.

However, at the time, we had no idea exactly when GTA VI would be released outside of this vague time window.

Fortunately, the game’s release window has been drastically narrowed following last week’s financial earnings report of Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive. Still, unlike the big reveal in December 2023, the new release window was announced subtly without any frills.

Earlier rumours suggested that GTA VI could be released in early 2025, which would have been great. In comparison, the current situation represents a slippage, even if the time window was not previously specified. The game was quietly pushed further away without many noticing.

If you also assumed that the game would be released in early 2025, then you may feel the current news as a kind of delay. At the same time, there is also a more positive reading of the matter. The fact that we now know that GTA VI will be released in late 2025 gives Rockstar Games more time to develop and perfect the game. All this reduces the chance that the game will be “officially” delayed.

At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in late 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC release has not yet been announced, but hopefully, Rockstar Games will reveal this in the coming months.
