GTA VI: Rumour Time Is Over, Here’s The Official Release Window!

Take-Two has confirmed the release window for Rockstar Games’ next open-world title, GTA VI, in a financial report that also revealed new, astonishing sales figures for GTA V…

Millions of people have been waiting for this moment. Grand Theft Auto VI has become a reality and is getting closer every day. When the first trailer for GTA VI was released at the beginning of December last year, the community was filled with excitement about the large, open world being created in Rockstar Games’ workshop. However, almost six months have passed since then, but it was worth it because now we know the official release window.

In its financial report last year, Take-Two has now confirmed the release window of Grand Theft Auto VI, which will be released once and for all at the end of 2025, i.e. in the fall.

So, we can already say that GTA VI will debut between September 22 and December 21, 2025. “Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI.”

Take-Two has a lot of faith in Rockstar. They noted that they are “highly confident that Rockstar Games will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience, and our expectations for the commercial impact of the title continue to increase.” Longer term, they note that “our company is poised for new successes, and we expect to see sequential growth in net book revenues for fiscal years 2025, 2026 and 2027.”

This is coming later than initially thought, as Take-Two projected that they wanted to earn $8 billion in the current fiscal year ending in April 2025.

However, it seems that this minor modification was part of Rockstar’s plans. After all, only 2025 was shown in the trailer. Thus, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in Fall 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to take advantage of the Christmas window. However, the PC version of the game will have to wait for a few more months. Probably mid 2026, given how long it takes for the big R to release open worlds ports.

GTA V sold 200 million copies?!

The other big news of the evening is the new sales of GTA V, which reached 200 million copies! It went on to become the second best-selling video game in history, surpassed only by Minecraft, which is well over 300 million. It wouldn’t be surprising if Grand Theft Auto V reached 220-230 million games sold by the time the sixth instalment was released.
