Immortals of Aveum: AMD FSR 3 Now Available on Consoles

Thanks to an update to Ascendant Studios’ magical FPS, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 has been added to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, marking the first time a frame-generating feature has been supported on consoles.

Ascendant Studios announced a new update for Immortals of Aveum, made possible by a team from Texas, Enduring Games. The studio has co-developed many games, including Demon’s Souls Remake – PlayStation 5, Godfall – PlayStation 5/PC, Knockout City – PlayStation 5/PlayStation 4/Xbox Series/Xbox One/Nintendo Switch/PC; a cross-platform update of Borderlands 3, New Tales From the Borderlands, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands; an Unreal Engine-powered VOD app for Nintendo Switch for Crunchyroll; and a Nintendo Switch version of Tribes of Midgard…

The update not only brings AMD FSR 3 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, but it’s also been updated on PC to improve image quality and performance, and HDR hasn’t been left out, not to mention better variable refresh rate (VRR) support. The studio wrote: “AMD FSR 3 uses a combination of super-resolution temporal upscaling technology and frame generation to deliver smoother frame rates in supported games. This technology uses optical flow technology and temporal game data such as motion vectors to generate additional high-quality frames for a higher frame rate. On PC, AMD FSR 3 has been updated to a newer, better version that further improves the visual quality and performance of its temporal upscaling.

HDR is one of the most requested features by the Immortals of Aveum community, and our team shared that desire to bring HDR to Immortals of Aveum. This meant taking the time to make the game look great in both SDR and HDR, while balancing work on other unannounced projects. We wanted to provide players with beautiful HDR visuals, and we’re excited to offer a richer, more visually compelling journey through Immortals of Aveum that we hope all Battlemages will enjoy,” Ascendant Studios wrote.

Now, who’s following the game in AMD FSR 3 support for console?
