Is Wonder Woman in Trouble? [VIDEO]

Development on Monolith Productions’ next game is reportedly not going as well as the developers of Middle-earth had hoped: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-earth: Shadow of War.

Wonder Woman was announced three years ago. 2021 was a completely different time, but Monolith Productions’ game still doesn’t look like it’s coming anytime soon. However, the E3 replacement period is here, so there will be a lot of games announced, and we might even expect to see more about this title, but let’s not put a lot of money on it.

Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller (who doesn’t tend to talk about rumors) claims that Wonder Woman’s development is a bit of a problem, and therefore we shouldn’t expect it anytime soon, as he believes that Monolith Productions’ project isn’t ready for the limelight: “Last year, because I’ll leave it ambiguous, I talked to an insider who said, “This game is troubled. That’s all I’m going to say. So I don’t hold out hope that it’s in a place to show anything. [I don’t think it’s where they want it to be, I don’t think it’s ready for prime time. The game will also feature the studio’s trademark Nemesis system, but that sounds odd even when written down, so technically it’s even more unusual.

Last year, there were rumors that Wonder Woman would be a Live Service title, but then publisher Warner Bros. Discovery confirmed that the project would be a single-player adventure, and briefly described it as such: “Wonder Woman is a single-player action-adventure game set in a dynamic open world. This third-person experience will allow players to become Diana of Themyscira and will introduce an original story set in the DC Universe, including the Nemesis system. Wonder Woman is not being developed as a live service.

No release date or target platforms are known for Wonder Woman, which is a bit of a joke three years after it was announced. But none of this is official.
