Final Fantasy XVI Creators’ Next Projects Revealed – Should We Ready The Controller?!

According to Naoki Yoshida, Square Enix has “high expectations” for Final Fantasy XVI developer Creative Studio 3.

Remember when Final Fantasy XVI came out almost a year ago? It was a promotional title that the community loved, and after the release of the two expansions, Square Enix only had to release the PC port. However, it seems clear that the studio is already busy with new projects. This information was revealed by FFXVI producer and Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida.

Naoki Yoshida, known to most people on social media as Yoshi-P, gave an interview to Dutch media outlet Gamer.nl.

In the interview, he said that Creative Studio 3, the team behind Final Fantasy XVI, is working on two new games. The best part is that they can be unveiled soon, confirmed the Japanese creative. “We’re working on some games that we haven’t announced yet,” he said.

According to Yoshida, we can expect their announcements “soon.” But he also mentioned that Square Enix has high expectations for Creative Studio 3. Thus, the company expects even more admissions. “I have more work now than a year ago. I didn’t have to fire anyone, and the current team is unchanged. In fact, the hiring of new employees is already underway,” he explains.

“The company has high expectations. That’s one of the cornerstones. There’s no chance we’ll downsize or invest less. We’ll continue to work just as hard on the game, so players don’t have to worry,” he concludes.

The next game from the developers of Final Fantasy XVI could be “lighter”

A few weeks ago, it was reported that the next game from the producer of FFXIV and XVI might deviate from dark fantasy. This was said by Square Enix veteran Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, who said Yoshida may turn his attention to a “lighter” project.

“I have a feeling that there will be a paradigm shift in this direction,” he said. Whatever it is, we’re still waiting to see what Creative Studio 3 and Naoki Yoshida have in store. But the next stop for sure is Dawntrail, the new Final Fantasy XIV expansion coming out on July 2nd.
