Armie Hammer Breaks Silence – Is There Any Hope He Can Rebuild His Career?! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Armie Hammer, reflecting on the derailment of his career, has come to the conclusion that he is grateful for the changes that have taken place despite the controversial accusations.

Armie Hammer has spoken candidly about the allegations that ultimately derailed his acting career – including claims of cannibalism, sexual abuse and rape, the latter of which eventually resulted in the actor not being charged. Despite the allegations’ upheaval on his life, Hammer admits he is “grateful” for everything that happened when his world changed completely three years ago.

In a very candid interview on the Painful Lessons podcast with host Tyler Ramsey, the Call Me by Your Name actor said he’s grateful for everything that happened in his life three years ago because it’s put him in a much better place today.

“Whatever it was that people said, whatever it was that happened, I’m not at a place in my life where I’m grateful for every single bit of it. I’m actually now at a place where I’m really grateful for it, because where I was in my life before all of that stuff happened to me, I never felt satisfied. I never was in a place where I was happy with myself.”

Armie Hammer’s Career Crashed After Provocative Text Messages Revealed in 2021

The actor’s troubles began in 2021, when an Instagram account circulated text messages allegedly from Hammer, which he sent to several women, and which contained several dark sexual fantasies. Among them is an obvious tendency to cannibalism. Everything seemed to fall apart from there, and one of Hammer’s ex-girlfriends, Courtney Vucekovich, claimed that the actor was emotionally abusive to her. Vucekovich claimed that, at one point, it got so bad that he ended up being hospitalized for post-traumatic stress syndrome. Her claims seemed to line up with some of the leaked text messages, notably when she claimed he shared a fantasy with her in which he broke one of her ribs and ate it.

Speaking about the rumours of cannibalism, the actor finds it humorous that anyone would believe that he actually consumed human flesh.

“I’m able to look at it with a sense of distance and perspective and be like, ‘That’s hilarious.’ People called me a cannibal, and everyone believed them. They’re like, ‘Yep, that guy ate people.’ They’re just like, what? Like, what are you talking about?”

The rumors were mostly about unusual sexual fantasies. Until the allegations got more serious when another woman came forward, claiming that the actor left her with bruises and stigmatized her on purpose. By April 2021, the actor was accused of rape and sexual abuse. The Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation. In the end, no charges were brought, but Hammer was seemingly destroyed in public, and as a result, the actor has not received any acting work since the allegations came to light.

Hammer denied the allegations of rape and any physical abuse. But by the time Discovery+ released the House of Hammer docu-series, which further detailed the allegations, he expressed that some changes were needed and admitted that he had received help and was in recovery. The actor admitted that the fall was a big blow to his ego and continued: “A neutron bomb went off in my life. It killed off [everything].”

Following the allegations, Hammer moved to the Cayman Islands and spoke candidly about dark thoughts, including possibly taking his own life.

“There were a lot of times when I thought, ‘I can’t take this anymore.’ And I hit really low, dark points. I was standing on the shore and I just looked out at the ocean and thought, ‘Yep, this is it,’ and I just swam out really f***ing far.”

Hammer cited his two children with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers as the reason he chose not to end his life. He also began to see that his lack of self-worth and his need for validation were likely contributing to his life’s downward spiral. He described himself as a “black hole” and indicated that whenever he received praise for himself or his work, the admiration only lasted for a moment before quickly disappearing. Now, he hopes the lessons from the scandal can help others who may have been in a dark situation like hers.

As for where his career is now, Hammer admits he hasn’t been called back by Hollywood, though he said he co-wrote a screenplay he hopes to get done.

It was later revealed that the script reflects the actor’s life, but he did not reveal any further details about the project.
