Justin Timberlake refused to take a breathalyzer test when he was pulled over by police in Sag Harbor, New York, before he was arrested for DUI early Tuesday morning. According to NBC’s sources, the “Selfish” singer was at the American Hotel Monday night with “a bunch of friends” and “cops were standing outside where he was having dinner.” He claims he “only had one martini.”

After Timberlake left, cops reportedly “pulled over and pulled him over for a traffic violation.” “His friends told the police, ‘Let him go, let him go,'” says an insider.

They also said the police officer who stopped Timberlake was “so young he didn’t even know” who the 10-time Grammy winner was.

When reached for comment, his lawyer, prominent Hampton attorney Eddie Burke Jr., would not elaborate on the details of his client’s arrest.

“He was a gentleman,” another source said. “He didn’t show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right.”

Ironically, the American Hotel is directly across the street from the office of Burke Jr., who previously represented clients such as Lizzie Grubman and Matt Lauer.

The “SexyBack” singer has been charged. He was released on his own recognizance on Tuesday morning. His license is suspended in New York, but we understand he has an out-of-state license.
