Not Just Anyone Revealed Encouraging News About Pirates Of The Caribbean 6!

MOVIE NEWS – Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is in the script writing stage and producer Jerry Bruckheimer hopes Disney will move forward with the project soon.

The new instalment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise may still be a long way off, but producer Jerry Bruckheimer spoke positively about the project. The series began in 2003 with The Curse of the Black Pearl. It grossed more than $4 billion in five films! The latest, Dead Men Tell No Tales, came out in 2017.

Although Pirates of the Caribbean 6 has yet to receive an official green light from Disney, producer Jerry Bruckheimer says the publisher will eventually return to the billion-dollar franchise that began as a theme park attraction.

Speaking to ComicBook.com while promoting the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F., Bruckheimer gave fans a positive update on Pirates of the Caribbean 6, noting that he’s still in the scriptwriting phase. But he also added that he hopes “it will be in about a month.” Bruckheimer remains optimistic about the script written by Jeff Nathanson, saying that Disney will like the finished version enough to move forward with the next instalment in the series.

“We have a script that’s being written right now. Hopefully, it’ll come in in a month or so, and it’ll be as good as I think it will be. So let’s hope that Disney likes it, and they give us an opportunity to make it.”

It will be the first of two upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movies; another alleged franchise instalment is being made with a female lead, starring Margot Robbie.

The plots of both films are being kept under wraps for now. The next “mainline” part is supposed to be a reboot rather than a direct continuation of the 5th film.

Could Johnny Depp be in Pirates of the Caribbean 6?

As the face of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise since its inception in 2003, we’d think Johnny Depp would return as Captain Jack Sparrow for the sixth instalment. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

After his legal troubles with Amber Heard, the 61-year-old actor is not involved in the latest project, which is said to be a franchise reboot with an entirely new cast.

This allows, as Jerry Bruckheimer has already pointed out, for the series to move forward without having to wait on the schedules of established stars such as Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley to shoot a new film. Bruckheimer called the new project “easier to put together.”

Along with this, the producer also mentioned that if it were up to him, Johnny Depp would also appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. However, this decision rests with Disney’s senior executives. And they don’t seem too keen on Depp reprising his role as Jack Sparrow, given his previous legal battles. According to Bruckheimer, “we’ll see what happens.”

“f it was up to me, of course. I love having Depp… He’s a great actor and good friend… I’ve certainly spoken to him, but we’ll see what happens.”

Johnny Depp became the iconic protagonist of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Do they still need him, or can the franchise survive without his character?
