Red Dead Redemption Still Got Something New to Show?! Here’s an Astonishing Detail!

This detail, although evident, has not been noticed by Red Dead Redemption fans until now…

Red Dead Redemption fans have uncovered a cool fact about one of Rockstar Games’ most beloved characters.

Rockstar Games has made some massive bangers over the years. But you could also say that titles like Red Dead Redemption and GTA V wouldn’t have been as popular as they are if it weren’t for the incredibly well-written protagonists.

Of all Rockstar’s protagonists, the fan favourite is Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston, who also appears in Red Dead Redemption 2.

For those who don’t know, we play John throughout the entire story of the first game, and then in the prequel, after playing through the game, he becomes a secondary protagonist.

Now, fans have discovered something extraordinary about the character. He is the “first and only Rockstar protagonist that is playable in more than one game.” Ryder S. shared this on Twitter, or X if you prefer, and he absolutely hit the nail on the head with it.

If we want to be pedantic, we could say that Claude from GTA II and GTA III is the first character that we can play multiple times. But technically, even though they have the same name, they are still different characters. (Not to mention that GTA II and GTA III are apparently set in alternate universes, separating the 2D and 3D games in the series…)

On the other hand, John Marston is the same guy in RDR as he is in RDR 2, and is fully playable in both.

This is very fitting in some ways, as he is often considered the best character Rockstar has ever created. True, Arthur Morgan and Trevor from GTA V are not far behind in this regard.

Of course, you never know. Maybe the developer will make a new twist in GTA VI and bring back one of the main characters from GTA V as a playable character after playing through the story…
