MOVIE NEWS – Fans are speculating a lot about Giancarlo Esposito’s mysterious role in the movie Captain America: Brave New World, but according to the actor, no one has guessed correctly so far…

Giancarlo Esposito is teasing Marvel fans with his mysterious role in Captain America: Brave New World. According to him, no one has yet guessed who exactly he plays in the film.

Most of the characters appearing in the film have already been announced: Anthony Mackie will play Sam Wilson/Captain America (obviously), Harrison Ford will play Thaddeus “Lightning” Ross, Liv Tyler will play Betty Ross, Tim Blake Nelson will play Samuel Sterns, and Danny Ramirez will play Joaquin Torres. Esposito’s role, however, remained a closely guarded secret.

Fans have been frantically speculating about who Esposito might play in the new MCU movie. However, at a recent convention (via ComicBookMovie.com ), Esposito said that no one had guessed correctly who he would be playing in Brave New World.

The actor briefly described his mysterious character before dropping the bombshell that all the online speculation was wrong.

“The character I’m playing is a badass. That always excites me. For me to develop that character in line with the character’s inception is a fascinating art for me. I had an incredible time shooting it. I’m not telling you who I’m playing… people are trying to guess and no one has guessed correctly yet.”

The first trailer for the film was recently released online, showing Esposito’s character in action. The actor appears in three moments in the detailed trailer, which gives his character even more depth. In addition to introducing the “badass” role, the trailer also gives fans the first glimpse of the MCU’s “Red Hulk,” played by Harrison Ford. (He takes over the role from the late William Hurt.)

Esposito could play hundreds of potential Marvel Comics characters in Captain America: Brave New World. However, it is almost sure that the actor is not playing a role that he has wanted for a long time. Before joining the MCU in Brave New World, Esposito said he would love to play Charles Xavier in a Marvel movie. So far, two actors have played Xavier in live-action films. Patrick Stewart first brought the role to life in Fox’s original X-Men film series. And James McAvoy played a younger version of the character in the prequel films.

Esposito recently revealed why he wanted to play Professor Xavier in a Marvel movie. Discussing his role in A24’s horror film MaXXXine, Esposito revealed that he wanted to play the role after seeing a fan casting.

“The fans really started the Professor X rumor and I loved it. I went along for the ride because I love the fans. I started thinking about Professor X because I feel like that could be a character that I would really excel at and really be great in.”
