Would you Kill Conor McGregor? You Can in Hitman: World of Assassination! [VIDEO]

In IO Interactive’s game, you have the chance to defeat the Irish-born mixed martial artist (MMA), but hurry, this event is coming to an end!

There’s a new mission available in Hitman: World of Assassination until July 29th. In this mission, you’ll be tasked with taking down Conor McGregor. In addition to his looks, he’s also lent his voice to the martial artist, who is an Elusive Target that players can access for free via the Free Starter Pack. In the game, McGregor is known as The Disruptor, and here too he makes his money fighting (he is now a multi-millionaire). McGregor has become so popular that 150,000 players a day are trying to take him out!

We’re not making this up, IO Interactive themselves revealed this figure. Currently, 47% of players have managed to defeat The Disruptor. Those who have completed the mission have mostly done so in melee combat, rather than using one of Agent 47’s silent killing solutions. 27% of players have chosen the cage fight, which (if done correctly) completes the mission.

The current record is fifteen seconds. The Disruptor took FIFTEEN seconds to die, barely finishing his speech at the beginning of the mission! The other extreme is sixteen hours, which is about 3840 times the record… and according to IO Interactive’s published data, the strangest tools for the kill include a headset (?!), a battle axe, and the Pale Duck, an explosive rubber ducky.

IO Interactive has released a paid DLC, The Disruptor Pack. The Ostentatious quest lets you reach Conor McGregor at any time, the Freelance Safehouse has new cosmetic items, and three new tools will be available. Additional content for the character-driven season will be released in the coming weeks (new challenges and contracts). The DLC costs $5.

By the way, Hitman: World of Assassination has been available for quite some time (it was originally Hitman III, but content from the first two parts of the reboot trilogy is already included).
