Will Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Finally Return?! Something Interesting Was Spotted at SDCC!

Photos taken at San Diego Comic-Con have surfaced on social media, hinting at Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver I & II Remastered…

Are you a fan of the Legacy of Kain franchise? Then you’re in luck because there’s a chance the Crystal Dynamics franchise could be back with a remaster of two games that were once loved by the community. The complex storytelling, innovative game mechanics, and complex characters of the Soul Reaver games are still remembered by players today. Thus, the thought that they could return in a renewed version brought a smile to many people’s faces…

In the last hours, it was revealed that some photos of the Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver I & II Remastered branding (via Wario 64) from the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), which takes place from July 25-30, have surfaced.

All indications are that Crystal Dynamics, whose name appears in the images, will soon announce the remaster.

If you look at one of the photos, there is a captcha, and according to several Resetera users, if you scan it with your mobile phone, it will redirect you to the Dark Horse newsletter website. This company is mainly known for its comic books. Among others, the Legacy of Kain comics were released to expand the universe seen in the video games. Moreover, a few days ago, they announced the Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise comic, which will be released later this year. So it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw another announcement soon…

Crystal Dynamics tested the return of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver with polls

For now, it is better to wait for the official announcement. But there are signs of optimism. For example, it was reported over a year ago that Crystal Dynamic’s fan survey made it clear that players wanted a new Legacy of Kain. Now that the Embracer Group owns the IP, it’s unknown if we’ll see a new game in the future. But this potential remaster, which we’ve already reported on, is an excellent chance to bring back this beloved franchise with better graphics, updated gameplay, and compatibility with current platforms.
