The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: What Lies Beyond the Rifts? [VIDEO]

Nintendo’s next Switch exclusive: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom isn’t about Link this time around, it’s about a sword-wielding princess!

The land of Hyrule has been torn apart by mysterious rifts. To find Link and the King of Hyrule, both of whom have been stolen, Princess Zelda must borrow the power of an ethereal creature called Tri. Together, they enter the tears that scar the land to save their kingdom. On her journey, Zelda will explore what lies within the Rifts. In the Silent World, trees, fragments of land, people, and other items that were swallowed by the Rifts float in the void. It is said that they will eventually disappear altogether. Exploring the farthest reaches of this world is no easy task. Zelda must traverse eerie floating terrain. Because the path is broken, the Echoes you’ve learned can come in handy. Forge your own path by creating Echoes and using them as platforms to bridge the gaps.

Massive dungeons can also be found deep within the Silent World. Zelda will use her wisdom and Echoes to defeat enemies and puzzles that stand in her way, then face challenging bosses that await her arrival. But what to do? Overpower the boss with Echoes? Or combine them to find unique ways around the situation? The strategy is up to you. The Silent World can be accessed through Rifts scattered throughout Hyrule, and each entry point leads to a location with its own unique characteristics. On her quest, Zelda must conquer the dungeons within the Rifts and the secrets they hold. Without Link or the King, the fate of Hyrule is in Zelda’s hands.

When Zelda finds and picks up a mysterious sword, she takes on the Swordfighter form, allowing her to attack directly. With its mighty power, she can move forward when her path is blocked, strike down enemies alone, or fight alongside Echoes. However, she can only remain in Swordfighter form for a short time. When and where you choose to use this power is up to you. The sword’s gauge can be replenished by collecting energy found in the Silent World, so be sure to grab any you can find.

Dampe is an engineer who creates clockwork contraptions in Hyrule. His extravagant creations are called Automatons and can be activated by winding them up. They can unleash powerful effects that set them apart from Echoes, but be careful – they will break apart if they take too much damage. You’ll meet many other quirky characters along the way, and there’s no doubt they’ll be of great help to the princess. On a journey to traverse and save Hyrule, Princess Zelda’s wisdom is the key to this adventure.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 26th.
