Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7, which includes many improvements, will be released in October for consoles and Mac.
After weeks of exciting details and news, Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is finally available on PC! And that means the Forgotten Realms RPG experience will change forever, as a new update from Larian Studios implements the long-awaited official mod editor. In other words, it’s now easier for fans of the title to expand the already vast D&D fantasy universe.
As stated in the official press release, Larian Studios used a Baldur’s Gate 3 Toolkit and an in-game Mod Manager to create and manage mods for the fantasy RPG. “With this new and supported way to create and install mods, you should see improvements in compatibility and accessibility, and can rest more assured that your supported mods work wherever you’re playing Baldur’s Gate 3, which will include consoles a little down the line .” Regarding the latter, the game’s creators say Patch 7 will be available on Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox sometime in October.

To use it, you just need to follow the steps below before downloading the toolkit:
- Go to your Steam library
- Right-click on Baldur’s Gate 3
- Select Properties, then DLC
- Make sure “Toolkit Data DLC” is checked in the Install column.

Although the team has yet to publish an in-depth article detailing the features of the mod editor, they have already shared some guides (Modding Guides, Getting Started, Creating a New Mod) to give players a clue. As we’ve known for a while now, Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 is a huge update for the RPG. In addition to introducing the aforementioned official mod editor, Larian Studios also added new (evil) endings to the plot. As well as the possibility to (temporarily) include the bard of the game in the party. Of course, all this is accompanied by more than 1000 refinements to polish the fantasy experience to the maximum.
What awaits us in the future? While Larian Studios is already working on new projects, patch 7 is not the last update for BG3. Moreover, the creators know that RPG fans are asking for Photo Mode to capture their favourite moments. This will come at a later date, along with other new features.
