After Counter-Strike and Team Fortress 2, another Valve game has been shown to have cheaters, but for an invite-only title, it looks even more idiotic!
In the video embedded below, you can see two people cheating in Deadlock, presumably working together because they’re on the same track (the little MOBA touch is evident here). One cheater is controlling Infernus and the other is controlling Vindicta, and you can tell from the beginning that they are cheating because they get almost impossible hits against creeps, but when they aim at other players, they are definitely cheating.
Then Seven is the loser, because the crosshairs are on her almost immediately, and when the camera pans to Vindicta, you can see that not only is the character “locked” on the enemy team, but the bullets are somehow curved so that the cheater can hit the other players behind the wall. You can no longer say that cheaters are just playing well, because it’s physically impossible, and there’s no way to bend the rules of physics in Deadlock.
Of course, being able to hit your opponents accurately does not automatically lead to victory. You need to know how to level up your skills, choose the right items, and since this is a MOBA, it’s necessary to learn some strategy. The Vindicta in the video hasn’t even developed its ultimate skill yet, but apart from that, it’s pretty pathetic that a game that’s still in alpha can’t get away with cheating because it has no stakes at the moment: no ranks, no ladders.
Of course, you can report cheaters to Valve and they will quickly get a hardware ban that can be circumvented, but it’s not that easy. A lot of people think that after Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike, there will be a lot of trouble with cheaters here as well…
