“Will Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Live Up to Fans’ Expectations?”

Square Enix says Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 won’t “betray fans” of the original JRPG, though there will be new things that “bring joy.” Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth producer Yoshinori Kitase says they’ve “always” kept the original JRPG in mind.

There are still several years to go before Square Enix releases Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, the sequel to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth that will be the last part of this legendary Square Enix sub-saga. The JRPG from the Japanese company is taking shape as the months go by, and it seems that its creators have a very clear idea of what the video game and the story will be like. The producer of Final Fantasy VII Remake has also reflected on this last topic.

Yoshinori Kitase has given an interview to Anime News, where he talks about Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 and some aspects of the game, such as its narrative comparison to the 1997 Final Fantasy VII. “What exactly this will entail is something we hope players will experience soon. We’ve heard a lot of speculation from players, saying, ‘Oh, how much will this story change from the original?’” he begins.

Laying out the plan for what Final Fantasy VII will look like and when it will hit stores

Square Enix’s Japanese creative continues in his explanation: “And I want to say that I don’t think it’s going to be like that. We’ve always had the original in mind, and I don’t think it’s going to be a story that betrays the fans of the original game. But also, at the same time, it’s been 27 years since the original Final Fantasy 7 was released. There are things that we feel we can only do now in the remake project that can bring a new happiness, a new kind of feeling of satisfaction to players playing this game now 27 years later. What exactly that will be is something we hope players will experience soon,” he notes (via Gamesradar).
