Lies of P: What to Expect from Neowiz on PlayStation 5 Pro

Pinocchio’s Souls clone has quickly become popular with gamers, so it’s no surprise that it’s being supported by Sony’s half-generation console update.

Jiwon Choi, director of Lies of P, told Eurogamer about the tuning we’ll get when we play Round8 and Neowiz’s title on Sony’s more powerful PlayStation 5: “At Round8, we always strive to deliver a polished and engaging experience with Lies of P, and we’re grateful for the positive reception of the game’s optimization on all platforms. With the introduction of PlayStation 5 Pro, we’re excited to take that experience one step further by offering improved performance that we hope players will appreciate.

For example, Quality Mode features a more than 30 percent increase in FPS for smoother, more fluid gameplay. In addition, Performance Mode now supports full native 4K resolution, allowing players to enjoy stunning visuals without sacrificing responsiveness. We believe that frame rate is truly the most important factor in a premium action RPG. The precision and fluidity required for this genre is critical to the combat experience.

Thanks to the outstanding performance of PlayStation 5 Pro, we’re able to maintain an optimal frame rate at 4K, ensuring that the gameplay feels as smooth and responsive as it should. We hope these improvements will create an even more immersive experience for players, bringing the hauntingly beautiful world of Lies of P to life in the way that players love,” said Choi.

Round 8 and Neowiz are currently working on DLC for Lies of P, but it is not expected to be released until later this year. For this reason, it would not be unexpected if they push back the release to early 2025. Of course, Sony can’t do that with the PlayStation 5 Pro, since it will be available from November 7 ($700/€800, and that doesn’t include the Blu-ray drive and vertical stand).
