It’s hard to describe, but it’s true: until now, you couldn’t run MachineGames on a PC with less than 8GB of VRAM!
Indy has received its second patch and many things have been fixed. They fixed a problem where the user’s game slot could be reported as corrupted or missing completely when there was no real problem. They fixed a bug where the player might not be able to equip Indy’s whip or have the camera permanently equipped. They also fixed a bug where players could drop and lose their camera when using the quick equip (“key item”) prompt to equip their camera while inspecting another nearby pickup item. Prevented “Double Vision” from getting stuck on the screen when Indy is nearly drowning. For players who have experienced this issue, repeating the near-drown should resolve the issue. Some other improvements to reduce “stuttering” from duplicated frames during cutscenes.
Fixed an issue with missions and quests where Gina would not be able to approach the secret entrance to the Vatican Treasury, preventing the mission from progressing. Fixed an issue where Gina would pick the lock to the exit of the Vatican Treasury as soon as you entered the room, causing you to miss some very important story developments. Fixed a large hole in the floor collision at the edge of the wall around the Ziggurat in Sukhothai that the player could fall through.
What about PC-specific fixes? They fixed an issue where Nvidia DLSS could cause performance issues when enabled. They also fixed a bug where Nvidia Frame Generation wasn’t properly enabled when using HDR. Nvidia Low Latency Mode could cause performance issues when used with Frame Generation, but it’s now fixed. Fixed a problem where Global Illumination could be completely disabled when playing on graphics cards with less than the minimum VRAM (less than 8 GB).
Fixed a problem where indoor lighting could be too bright when Path Tracing (Full Ray Tracing) is set to Medium or High Quality. Nvidia Frame Generation may be temporarily disabled when HDR is enabled for the first time. To work around this, disable DLSS and then re-enable it. This only needs to be done once. Content creators may experience in-game crashes when using OBS Studio software to capture video. Updating OBS Studio to version 31.0.0 should prevent these crashes. Global Illumination has been improved on the Xbox Series to address issues where shadowed areas were appearing brighter than expected.
But remember, this is a game that requires a ray tracing compatible graphics card!
