Lost Soul Aside: A New Hope from UltiZero Games Arriving Soon! [VIDEO]

Back in March 2017, the PlayStation China Hero Project was launched, and that’s when we first heard about the game that’s been in development for almost eight years!

It’s really impossible to describe, but Lost Soul Aside has been in development for over 7.5 years, making it one of the most Chinese-developed PlayStation-backed projects in the world. We also heard that it was scheduled for release in 2020, but that didn’t happen due to the pandemic. It’s incredible to think that there were plans to release it four years ago…

Then, in April 2021, UltiZero Games announced Lost Soul Aside for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, then it was picked up by Sony Interactive Entertainment in November 2022, both ruling out an Xbox Series version (it’s not MLB The Show to be such a multiplatform title…) and allowing for a PC port. Revealed in 2016, the game mixes fantasy and sci-fi, swords and superpowers, which you can see in the gameplay video below…

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s synopsis of the game is unimpressive: “Embark on an epic odyssey to save your sister and all of humanity from dimensional invaders in Lost Soul Aside – a stylish single-player action-adventure-RPG. Chain lightning-fast combos, learn new abilities, and upgrade your weapons as you take on formidable enemies and colossal bosses in fast-paced, dynamic combat. In development by Ultizero Games”.

Lost Soul Aside is scheduled for a worldwide release on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam) in 2025, so the PlayStation 4 version has been quietly canceled. You can now add the Chinese-developed game to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store, but the PC system requirements (both the minimum and recommended) are not yet available on Valve’s platform, so it’s still a long way off…
