G-Man’s Actor Drops Hints About Half-Life 3? [VIDEO]

A prominent Half-Life voice actor has posted a cryptic message on Twitter, and it’s probably safe to assume that Valve is working on something related to the franchise.

With Valve and all of their IP, a third installment is something we simply cannot imagine. Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Half-Life 3. Portal 3. Left 4 Dead 3. Team Fortress 3. They don’t exist, do they? There were plans, but they never materialized. For Gabe Newell’s company, number three mysteriously seems to be some kind of enemy.
Half-Life: Alyx was released in 2020, but it was for VR headsets, not a traditional PC development. Valve did pretty well with it, though, and now the studio may be working on something else, if Mike Shapiro is to be believed. Shapiro is none other than the voice of G-Man, and he made this statement on Twitter in the character’s voice: “Another year already. Good to see and hear from so many of you. May the next quarter century bring as many…unexpected…surprises hmm? As the first millennium did. Then again, time is fluid, like music. See you in the new year.”

As Shapiro speaks, a mysterious artwork image appears diagonally across the video. Another Twitter user, garageagle, put the frames together and partially assembled the image. It’s the cover of a song. The song is called Best Long Dog, and it’s by Shapiro. Although the image itself doesn’t directly reference Half-Life 3, the hashtags in Shapiro’s tweet do, and it was the one with the 2025 tag that caught the audience’s attention and interest. Shapiro’s millennial period could also refer to 1998-2007. The first Half-Life was released in the former period, and The Orange Box (Half-Life 2 and its two episodes, Portal, Team Fortress 2) in the latter.
So something is in the works at Valve, but we are afraid to ask what exactly…
