ArmA Reforger: Now You Can’t Be Safe Anywhere! [VIDEO]

Bohemia Interactive has released a major update to the game, which is slowly gaining a wider audience…

ArmA Reforger has come a long way since its rather poor launch in 2022. It’s a multiplayer-focused military role-playing game and toolkit that’s partly ArmA 3’s Zeus in Bohemia’s fancy new engine, and partly elements of ArmA 4 are being tested here. It wasn’t very popular when it came out of Early Access on Steam. People accused Bohemia of abandoning them, but that’s not the case with the latest update.

Big changes have been made with update 1.3, which adds a number of significant features to the Czech studio’s latest military simulator. Two new tanks have been added: the LAV-25 from the US faction and the BDRM-2 from the Soviets, but the more significant change is that ArmA Reforger now features fully destructible buildings and trees. According to Bohemia, solid cover is now temporary and destruction changes everything. Buildings can be demolished, entire forests can be wiped out, lines of sight can be widened, and even barrage points can be ignored.

There are also two new attack helicopters, the Mi-8 and the UH-1H. Both feature fully adjustable collimator sights, detachable missile pods, and multiple ammunition options. Players can coordinate with reconnaissance teams to delay enemy advances, cut off supply routes, level cities, and support friendly assault forces from miles away.

Single-player ArmA fans will also enjoy a new Elimination scenario in which players play as an American Spec-Ops soldier tasked with taking out a Soviet officer. There’s also a lot of tweaking to vehicles to carry more supplies, and ammo caches have been reworked to require players to gain rank before they can use better equipment, which Bohemia hopes will prevent this kind of spam.

ArmA Reforger had mixed reviews in 2022. Now, with more than 23,000 reviews, it has mostly positive overall ratings and is in the very positive category out of 2,000 reviews in the last 30 days. So the game is slowly gaining the trust of the community.
