La Quimera: You Don’t Have to Wait Long for the ex-4A Devs’ New Game! [VIDEO]

Reburn, formerly known as 4A Games Ukraine, is not that far away and you can try it out.

On April 12, starting at 16:00 Hungarian time, a closed beta test will allow you to try out a mid-game mission, the so-called pivotal mission, either solo or in co-op for 24 hours. The game won’t cost much either, as La Quimera (which looks a bit (?) like Crysis) will be available for $/€30… and that seems to be a very reasonable, friendly price.

La Quimera is a story-driven first-person shooter set in a dystopian future Latin America. In a fractured world where microstates rely on mercenary forces, you are an agent caught in a web of lies and deceit. Play alone or with up to two friends equipped with futuristic weapons, exoskeletons and combat skills. The year is 2064. Most nation-states are extinct. A series of natural and man-made disasters in the 2030s and 2040s triggered the collapse of global systems, leading to the fragmentation of human communities. The political entities in this new world are microstates, and even in the midst of current interstate and corporate conflicts, they typically see no point in maintaining their own armies and must rely on mercenary forces – the “golden age” of private military companies, known as PMCs, has arrived. As a PMC operative, you’ll embark on an intense, high-stakes campaign in a dystopian world of future Latin America, across a breathtaking megalopolis and lush jungle, combining advanced weaponry and technology to battle rival factions.

La Quimera is a gripping, story-driven, atmospheric shooter experience whether you play solo or as part of a cooperative team. Team up with other mercenaries to coordinate tactics, combine firepower with combat skills, and share resources. Acquiring the right tools is crucial in this unforgiving world. Choose from a variety of weapons. Customize your exoskeleton with a variety of parts. Each weapon, ability, and exoskeleton allows you to create the perfect combination for your desired play style and enemy type.

Face off in intense battles against factions with their own unique characteristics – lightly armed charging bandits, stealthy long-range snipers, or heavily shielded and armed elite fighters. With resistance to conventional weapons and the ability to fly, crawl on ceilings, and scale walls, these robotic enemies are tough, unpredictable, and deadly. Some of the more advanced military models will require you to discover unique tactics to take them down for good. A personal combat AI assistant will provide you with tactical information in dangerous situations and serve as a guide in quieter locations.

“Our Reburn team can’t wait to finally share our hard work and vision for La Quimera with players on April 25th. Ahead of our release, we invite players to join us in our closed beta to get an early look at the co-op experience for our vision of Nuevo Caracas and far beyond. As a development studio based in Ukraine, the last few years have been extremely challenging in terms of bringing any artistic creation to life while dealing with the realities of war and dramatic changes in the gaming industry. Through it all, we stayed focused on what we love: Creating immersive, story-driven experiences. Our work would not be possible without the bravery and sacrifice of Ukraine’s defenders, and we’re deeply grateful for their strength and resilience. We’re also deeply grateful to everyone who has supported and believed in us along the way,” Reburn co-founder and CEO Dmytro Lymar wrote in the press release.

La Quimera will be released on April 25th, and you can sign up for the closed beta on Steam.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
