Assassin’s Creed Shadows: No Multiplayer After All? [VIDEO]

A rumor before the release of the game suggested that the new Assassin’s Creed would have a multiplayer element, but Ubisoft still hasn’t said anything about it.

Ubisoft Quebec shared how Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be expanded over the next year, and there was no mention of multiplayer modes at all, even though there are already files in the game that hint at it… could they be keeping it under wraps until a later announcement? Anyway, let’s see what’s official: the first update will arrive on May 6th. It will bring a new story quest called The Works of Luis Frois, as well as a codex update and some quality of life improvements.

At the end of May, Ubisoft Quebec plans to release another major update that will include a special collaboration with another franchise. The patch will introduce new parkour interactions requested by the community, including backflips that increase height, fully reanimated sideflips that allow you to reach greater heights, and a brand new parkour move called the Vertical Ledge Jump. This move will be available to both characters and will allow them to jump up and grab canopies and lower overhangs. It will be especially useful when running up walls is not an option.

Another story expansion is coming in June. This will include a new story mission and a new ally for the League. In addition, the developers are bringing the alarm system to the open world, but there will also be new difficulty settings and a number of immersive options, such as the ability to toggle weapons’ glow on/off during combat, black-and-white-red ability filters, post-target deactivation effects, and stealth perimeters. Finally, players will be able to change their headgear during dialog and scenes.

For the remainder of the year, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be updated with the New Game Plus mode, but will also feature new story elements, more quality of life upgrades, special co-op, codex updates, Animus content and rewards, and the Claws of Awaji expansion. This will add a new region with over 10 hours of content. It will be free for those who pre-ordered the game, and there’s no telling how much it will cost the rest of us…
