[SGF 2025] Dying Light: The Beast: Kyle Crane Will Return in Late Summer! [VIDEO]

Techland’s open-world, action-survival game is set to arrive soon as a standalone release separate from Dying Light 2: Stay Human. Anyone who purchased the Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition will get Dying Light: The Beast for free—a thrilling, standalone zombie adventure set in the post-apocalyptic Castor Woods, once a bustling tourist destination.

After enduring thirteen years of brutal experiments, Kyle Crane finally escapes and hunts down his captors for revenge, only to discover that there’s much more at stake. Though the region isn’t as populous as it once was, there are still people and factions—plus more horrors than ever. Some will seek your help; others will try to kill you. And then there’s the mysterious beast that’s turned the woods into its own hunting ground.

Kyle Crane’s selflessness during the initial viral outbreak saved countless lives from fates worse than death. Now, after more than a decade in captivity, he finds himself in a world that’s changed—and not for the better. To save more innocent lives, he’ll have to rely on the survival skills that kept him alive so long ago. Castor Woods, formerly a vibrant tourist spot, is now home to fewer and fewer survivors and more and more zombies. With its mix of natural landmarks, tiny villages, and industrial sites, the environment offers a range of ways to get around—whether by using parkour skills to outmaneuver enemies, or by hopping in an abandoned vehicle to escape the horrors of nightfall.

You were caged like an animal. Years of brutal experimentation have taken their toll, but now zombie DNA and your own have become one, letting you unleash beast-like power. It flows through your veins—no one can take it from you. Use it, and you’ll discover it’s not just a curse. Daylight offers countless opportunities to explore and make the most of your time while the sun is shining. But after sunset, the law of the wild rules. Darkness brings out the worst in the horde, leaving you with just three choices: run, hide, or fight. Sometimes sticking together is the smartest move. You never know what you’ll stumble upon in this adventure, so team up with up to three friends, or take on the world alone if you’re brave enough.

Dying Light: The Beast launches August 22 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
